quapona® technologies undertakes research and development according to customer specifications in the following key areas:

A core task of ours is developing embedded systems, which can be used in various fields in a highly integrated way. Highly integrated circuits developed by us, along with intelligent algorithms, have found uses in such applications as modular embedded systems of autonomous and self-assembling robots.

Integrated circuits (ICs) are the hub of our digitalised society and the basis of every complicated electronics system.

An important driver for innovation is the scaling-down of microelectronic circuits to ever smaller dimensions. As early as 1965, the semiconductor pioneer Gordon Moore described this mainspring of the digital revolution, later to be postulated by others in the form of Moore’s Law.
The particular research interests of quapona® technologies are, firstly, reducing the cost and resource factor in the development of integrated circuits and, secondly, developing innovative and novel digital systems.

Security of information and data is one of the cornerstones of corporate success. And it’s an equally basic requirement of our modern society. As the digital, networked world expands, the demands for ‘security’ are subjected to incessant change. Information and communication technology in particular, which is intruding into ever more aspects of our life and work, harbours risks. As with any vital nerve, the smallest malfunctions can have catastrophic consequences. Ongoing research is important to keep up with the constantly evolving demands and to be equipped to face the current threat level.

Thanks to the ongoing digitalisation of content, the integration of sensor technology into everyday devices and the creation of intelligent, networked environments in business and private life, the volume of data produced is incessantly on the increase. Processing the vast amounts of diverse data produced in this way is one of the most significant challenges of our time.
Big data harbours great potential, and is going to make long-term changes to the way businesses make decisions and the most diverse scientific disciplines conduct research.

Even today, robots are already supporting our lives in a wide variety of ways. They work in dangerous or inaccessible environments, or relieve human beings by taking over monotonous tasks.

The functional requirements of mobile robotic systems are considerably more demanding than those of conventional industrial robots. Mobile systems must operate autonomously in an unknown, changeable environment. They must be able to explore their present environment and model it appropriately. The information obtained then enables the robot to perform movements and actions in order to fulfil its task.

For companies, organisations and public authorities, applications programmes based on up-to-date standards are an absolute must for the user-friendly, efficient networking and interlocking of processes and technologies. Custom-fit applications improve operational processes where standard software is inadequate.

Mainframes are used for the highly reliable, highly available processing of mass data. In its research and development projects, quapona® technologies investigates mainframe-related infrastructures and applications.

  • The Internet of things

    The digitalisation of the world is changing our lives and work in manifold ways. Modern information and communication technologies have turned everyday objects into smart things that can be controlled via software and linked to the outside world, or amongst themselves, through the Internet.All these things are based on cyber-physical systems(CPS). These networked embedded systems link everyday objects with intelligent control processes. Integrated into many everyday objects, they have begun to connect the real and virtual worlds. Soon, CPS will make this networking the universal norm.

  • Industry 4.0

    The economy is on the cusp of the fourth industrial revolution. Driven on by the Internet, the real and virtual worlds are merging, a process supported by the Industry 4.0 future project. quapona® technologies considers Industry 4.0 as more than a contemporary buzzword. For us, it is the path leading to the digitisation of industry.Demands to make products highly individualised, and to enable highly flexible production, make it necessary to involve customers and business partners directly in the manufacturing process and with each other. In addition, there is a growing effort to connect products with high-quality services. Only smart monitoring and decision-making processes can fulfil these requirements, and control and optimise supply chains and companies in real time.
